Instagram: followyourdreamspunk

Tio Rico – https://www.facebook.com/tioricoband/  Grunge punk from Manchester

Forming & recording a self titled Demo in a bed room in 2015 with their friend Duncan, the band then went to Pressure Drop Studios in Stockport in 2016 and recorded the single Mr Big Shot with Will Farley (Stay Clean Jolene / The Leif Ericsson) followed by the EP Business and Pleasure in July 2017, this EP showed the bands progression away from ska to a heavier sound.
In July 2018 Tio Rico started working on a new album “Shit Show Pony” with Ant Booth (Avas) at Kesbri Studios in Bolton , progress was cut short when their drummer left but resumed when they were joined by Ash on Drums in September. Shit Show Pony was finally released on November 23rd 2019 via Horn & Hoof Records, coming in at number 12 on top 20 albums of 2019 for thepunksite.com.
“Shit Show Pony shows a refined version of what the band is known for but also nods towards where they might go. Contemporary societal rants over mid-to-fast 90’s Alternative Rock and disinterested Grunge are structured ala Punk over songs rarely over three minutes” – EarNutrition.co.uk
“Ten brutally short portions of speeding, feedback-drenched, exhilarating grunge that has all the makings of becoming a classic and long overdue debut album. Possibly the most thrilling 24 minutes’ listening you’ll get this year.” – ThePunkSite.com

THE SOAP GIRLS  + Support

The SoapGirls Armed with unforgettable melodies and catchy choruses, The SoapGirls energy, rawness and authenticity live, has earned them a formidable reputation. Performing continuously throughout 2017, these fearless French born sisters Millie and Mie, have slayed critics and earned a dedicated group of followers known as the ‘The SoapSuds’, who follow the band across the UK and Europe. The SoapGirls are society’s rejects and their punk credentials were rubber stamped by scintillating performances at the legendary Rebellion Festival last year and such was the their success that they were asked back to play the Blackpool event again in 2018. The SoapGirls write outsider anthems that are androgynous, audacious and straight from the heart. Following the release of their album Societys Rejects, features on there band have appeared in Classic Rock, The Mirror and Vive Le Rock, while their last two singles were played on BBC Radio and play listed by Planet Rock Radio. Fighting prejudice and haters with a sword of honesty and a shield of integrity The SoapGirls have endured much, but have always risen above those that have sought to derail them. The girls shine during their exhilarating, firework-strewn live performances, putting inclusivity and freedom of expression at the core of each show. They are keen to show that music should be for everyone and everyone should be free to be themselves. Alluring, hypnotic and nonchalant The SoapGirls started their career in Cape Town performing as street artists for eight years and were given their name by the general public. “We have been The SoapGirls since we were 8 and 9 selling hand made soap and street performing for various causes, we did this 365 days of the year for 9 years”. At twelve and thirteen they began their recording career and signed to Universal Records releasing their debut album in 2011 which topped the domestic charts. After conquering South Africa, The SoapGirls with their thirst for knowledge and justice, wanted to broaden their musical horizons, leading them first to stages in the United States and then the UK and Europe, with a determination to fight against struggle and heartache. The SoapGirls first toured the UK 2015, releasing their first independent well received album Calls For Rebellion, with one critic accurately calling the album “Raw, catchy, anarchistic Rock and Roll.” Guitarist Mie sets the pace beautifully as she powers through each song with a certain style and grace, that captivates every audience. Her biggest musical influences are Fleetwood Mac, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, Heart, Nirvana,The Butthole Surfers and R.E.M and prefers more chilled out melancholy music. Bass player Millie is a fan of heavier music from acts like Alice in Chains, Marilyn Manson, The Smashing Pumpkins, Korn, Alanis Morrissette, Hole, Aretha Franklin, Nirvana, Napalm Death and L7. This is evident in her performance as she connects and hypnotises the crowd. Both Millie and Mie swap vocal duties giving them scope to show their individual nature in a way that adds to The SoapGirls dynamic. Their common ground is grunge, but their ethic is punk. What’s in a genre anyway? It’s all music at the end of the day. The SoapGirls remind us that music can still be straight to the point, efficient, honest and exciting, so brace yourself for The SoapGirls’s next chapter.

NORMAN BEAKER BAND  + support  from MIKE SWEENEY(acoustic blues set)

British Bluesman Norman Beaker, born Norman Hume in Manchester, England in 1950, one of the very few who can claim to playing a role in creating the signature sound of an era when the devastation and deprivation of postwar Britain, particularly its northern cities, which found it’s expression in America’s most gritty musical tradition, The Blues. From the time he was a teenager Norman was at the nerve centre of the budding British Blues scene in its genesis, honing his skills with Graham Bond, Alexis Korner and other great artists of their calibre. This set the stage for his later work playing and recording with a “Who’s Who of Blues” from both sides of the Atlantic, such as Chuck Berry, Buddy Guy, B.B. King, Jimmy Rogers, Peter Green, Jack Bruce, Eric Burdon, Lowell Fulson, Van Morrison, Fenton Robinson, Carey Bell, Lurrie Bell, John Lord, James Booker, Mick Abrahams, Ruby Turner, Madeline Bell, Robert Plant, Paul Jones, Tony Ashton, Larry Garner, Chris Farlowe..and so many others. B.B. King said Norman was like “a white Freddie King”, a compliment indeed. But though he’s sometimes likened to Mr King and Peter Green, the source of his art is the wellspring of his own life and genius. And yet, despite his distinguished history, Norman has always remained in the corner of the eye. The ultimate paradox of blues is that many of the most genuine blues musicians aren’t widely known, simply because they personify the unpretentious and selfless spirit of the music itself. Though Mr Beaker never acquired a “big” name himself, he’s the one that the most famous blues artists trusted, being as hardworking, humourous and good natured as he is talented. His abilities as a superb frontman as well as his excellence as a backing musician is testimony to his integrity in serving the music rather than himself. Though Norman plays his homeland often, he’s often touring from country to country from Sweden to Belgium to Germany to the Balkans and everywhere in between, sharing the classic blues of his birthplace and earning a loyal following wherever he plays. Sadly, original British blues as it was forged in its early days has become obscured by later trends in popular music. With rare exception, those first to blend the sound of the Delta and Chicago with musical traditions of the UK are known mainly to aficionados…and each year there are less of the ones who created great art from hardship in a remarkable place and time. Those who work to keep it alive are worthy of the greatest respect. If the heart of blues combines great talent and skill with the authority to console, Norman Hume Beaker is the genre’s most dedicated acolyte.
